By wandering through the enjoyable village of Domburg, you’ll especially notice the many grand-cafés. The most important street in Domburg is the Ooststraat, which merges into the Markt and continues as the Weststraat. You’ll find several pubs, shops and restaurants in this area. Most of the hotels, restaurants, cafés and pubs have a cosy outdoor terrace, which is used in abundance especially in the height of the summer.

And the delicious Oosterschelde-lobsters, which are beautiful fine, soft and slightly sweeter than other crustacea.
There is also the sweet chewer the ‘bolus’. Soft white twisted dough, wrapped in a crispy, brown burnt caramel. Definitely not complete without a thick layer of unsalted butter. Every baker bakes them, like those delicious butter candy anyway.

The Dutch usually eat lunch between 12:00 and 14:00 and dinner around 17:00 to 20:00. Although many restaurants close at 22:00, there is a wide variety of restaurants, cafés and bars that continue to serve selected hot and cold dishes and snacks.

Beach Pavilions

For the young among us there are various options in Domburg. There are various bars in the Stationsstraat. Tramzicht, the Kafe Domburg and Cafe American Trash have been the local meeting places for the youthful (tourist) for years. There is usually a minimum age restriction of sixteen years, and are open every day until 2 am in the summer time.
The nearby town of Middelburg is bustling with nightlife as well. In this provincial capital you can find many atmospheric bars cafes and restaurants right next to the Vlasmarkt, the Pottenmarkt and the Markt. Most of the cafes are open until 2 am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. At the end of the Vlasmarkt is a night cafe that's open until 4 am on Saturdays.
