Weltevreden Mill

Molen Weltevreden is a round brick corn mill from 1817 on the edge of Domburg. It is a national monument and turns regularly thanks to a volunteer miller.
What can you expect at Molen Weltevreden?
- Building: It is a ground sailer, so the sails sweep down to just above the ground. Inside are two pairs of millstones.
- History: Mills have stood near the village since 1588. Jacob Coomans milled here from 1920 to 1963. The mill then nearly became a weekend home, but heritage lovers made sure the machinery was kept. It was restored in 1973.
- Owner: Since 1970 the mill has belonged to the municipality of Veere.
Practical information
- Visit: You can look inside when the mill is turning and the miller is present. Visits by appointment are not possible.
