The Badstrand of Domburg is the most popular and well-known beach in the city. It is located right next to the city center, making it very accessible for visitors and locals. This wide sandy beach is ideal for various activities, including sunbathing, swimming, beach walks, and more. The beach is clean and well-maintained, and there are lifeguards present during the summer months. Additionally, there are various amenities available, including restaurants, beach pavilions, toilets, and rental of beach huts and lounge chairs.
Noordduine Beach is located south of the center of Domburg. This is a quieter and more secluded beach, ideal for those who want to escape the crowds of the main beach. It is surrounded by high dunes and green areas, giving it a natural and serene atmosphere. This beach is also a popular spot for water sports activities such as surfing and kiteboarding.
The Hoge Hil Beach, located south of the city center, is a wide and peaceful beach. It offers beautiful views of the sea and the surrounding nature. Facilities & Safety on the Beach
The beaches of Domburg are clean, well-maintained and equipped with all the conveniences for a relaxing day by the sea.
Daily cleaning: Every summer day, the beaches are cleaned so you can enjoy a fresh and tidy spot on the sand.
Showers: Showers are located throughout the beach to rinse off sand and seawater – ideal after swimming or playing.
Supervision & First Aid: During the summer season, lifeguards and beach patrols look after your safety. First aid stations are available at the busier entrances.

Accessibility: Many beach entrances are suitable for prams and wheelchairs. Nearby parking areas make your beach visit even easier.

Beach Supervision in Domburg
At the main beaches of Domburg, lifeguards ensure a safe day by the sea. This way, you can enjoy the sun, sea, and sand without worry.
When: Daily from 10:00 to 18:00 in July and August, and also on weekends between 15 May and 15 September if the weather is good.
Qualified lifeguards: Trained in first aid and equipped with communication tools and rescue gear.
Lifeguard stations: Spread along the beach, clearly marked with flags and lookout points. These manned stations provide constant supervision.
Danger warnings: In case of strong currents or bad weather, you will be warned in time via flags.
The beach of Domburg is approximately 5 kilometres long and features five beach posts, strategically spread out along the beach. This ensures there’s always supervision nearby, wherever you are.

Rood-gele vlag
Bewaakte strandzone. Lifeguards aanwezig Reddingspost is geopend en in het werkgebied van de reddingsbrigade wordt er toezicht gehouden door gekwalificeerde lifeguards.
Rode vlag
Niet zwemmen! Zeer gevaarlijke zee Waarschuwt voor ernstig gevaar en wordt gehesen als de zwemcondities zeer gevaarlijk zijn. Zwemmen, baden en andere activiteiten op of in de zee worden ten zeerste afgeraden.
Gele vlag
Pas op met zwemmen! Gevaarlijke zee Waarschuwt voor gevaarlijke condities in de zee. Extra voorzichtigheid en waakzaamheid zijn geboden.
Oranje windzak
Pas op met zwemmen! Geen drijfmiddelen gebruiken! Waarschuwt voor het gebruik van (opblaasbare) drijfmiddelen in verband met aflandige wind.
Witte vlag met blauw vraagteken
Kind gevonden! Er is een kind gevonden, dat zijn of haar ouders/verzorgers mist. Ouders/verzorgers worden verzocht zich bij de reddingspost te melden.
Groene vlag met wit kruis
EHBO-post Eerstehulppersoneel is aanwezig op de reddingspost.
De zwart-wit geblokte vlag
Watersport toegestaan In de zone tussen de twee zwart-wit geblokte vlaggen zijn watersporten toegestaan.
Let op deze vlaggen en volg altijd de aanwijzingen van de lifeguards op voor uw veiligheid en die van anderen op het strand.

For many dogs, the beach is the ultimate place to run, play, and swim. Whether it’s a seaside walk in the fresh sea breeze or a cheerful game with a frisbee or ball – dogs clearly enjoy a day by the sea. But please note: on many beaches, seasonal rules apply regarding dogs.
Dogs are prohibited on the beaches of Domburg during the period 1 May till 15 September between 10:00 till 19:00.
Outside of the above mentioned period and time are dogs allowed (both loose and leased) on the beaches of Domburg.
Further, we also recommend reading the information board, with the local beach rules, which is often placed near every beach (entrance).
At low tide there is a strong current towards the sea, than stay close to shore. In case you get pulled in by the current do not try to swim straight against it, but swim slanting to the shore with the current. Also be aware of floating devices like air-beds, boats or other swimming devices.
Do not get to close to the poles, piers or other obstacles.
Watch your children carefully, do not let them alone near the water. Are there recognition signs on the beach, tell it to your children.
